What Is a Flake Floor

A flake floor is a layered coating system. We grind and prep the concrete, repair any cracks, lay down a polyurea base coat, broadcast decorative flake (chips) into the wet coat, then seal everything with a polyaspartic top coat.
The result: a textured, decorative, virtually indestructible surface that resists hot tire pickup, chemical spills, and UV degradation, finished and ready to drive on within 24 hours.

How an SCC-Certified Dealer Installs Flake

CONCRETE PREP
Mechanical grinding to open the concrete pores and create a clean surface. This is where most non-certified installs fail.

CRACK REPAIR
Hairline cracks, control joints, and surface defects are repaired with our crack repair system before any coating goes down.
STEP 3

BASE COAT
A polyurea base coat is rolled across the entire surface. Timing here is everything, the broadcast happens while it’s still wet.
STEP 4

FLAKE BROADCAST
Decorative vinyl chips are hand-broadcast into the wet base coat, fully covering the surface. Excess flake is scraped and vacuumed.
STEP 5

TOP COAT
A clear polyaspartic top coat seals the flake permanently, creating the UV-stable, chemical-resistant finished surface. Walkable in hours, drivable in 24.
