The SCC Training Method
Two phases. One standard. No shortcuts.
Most coatings training is a classroom session and a handshake. SCC training is something different. You spend the first day in a controlled environment learning the chemistry, the sequence, and the troubleshooting. Then you spend the rest of the class on a real job, installing a real customer’s floor, start to finish, alongside Shannon Sullivan and his master crew.
You don’t practice on a slab in a warehouse. You install a floor. By the time you go home, you’ve done it, not watched it.
The Two Installation Classes
Two classes. Three days each. Full certification on the SCC system.
Residential (Required First Class)
3 days total. Day 1 classroom at the SCC Dealers training facility. Days 2-3 hands-on, installing a real customer's residential flake floor alongside Shannon and his top crew.
CURRICULUM
- Concrete Prep, mechanical grinding, surface assessment, moisture testing
- Crack Repair, surface defects, hairline cracks, control joints
- Base Coat, polyaspartic application, timing, troubleshooting
- Flake Broadcast, hand-broadcasting technique, coverage, cleanup
- Top Coat, final sealer application, edge work, finishing
CERTIFICATION EARNED
Certified to install residential flake floors under the SCC lifetime residential warranty.
NOTE
Residential is the foundation. Every SCC dealer starts here, and it must be completed before the Advanced class.
Class 2: Advanced
3 days total. Day 1 classroom. Days 2-3 hands-on at the SCC Dealers training facility, with a real customer commercial flake install where the schedule allows.
CURRICULUM
Advanced is a packed class. The full curriculum covers all of the following systems, and every dealer must complete the entire class to earn certification, there are no opt-outs or partial completion paths.
- Commercial Flake Installation, concrete prep, crack repair, cove base, base coat, flake broadcast, top coat for commercial environments
- Grind and Seal, polished concrete prep, surface aesthetics, two-coat polyaspartic sealer system
- Pickleball Court Installation, surface specs, line work, certified court standards
- Volleyball Court Installation, indoor and outdoor systems, line work, finishing
- Basketball Court Installation, indoor and outdoor surface installation
CERTIFICATION EARNED
Five separate certifications, displayed independently on your trucks, website, and proposals:
- Commercial Flake
- Grind and Seal
- Pickleball Courts
- Volleyball Courts
- Basketball Courts
All certifies the dealer to install the covered work under the SCC 5-year commercial warranty.

Every SCC class is taught at our Salem, Indiana training facility, located at the Sullivan’s Concrete Coatings headquarters Shannon built over his 30-year career in the trade. This isn’t a rented conference room. It’s a working coatings business with active job sites and master crews who do this every day.

Who Teaches
Shannon Sullivan and his top crew.
You’re not learning from staff trainers. You’re learning from Shannon Sullivan personally and the master installers who run his top crews at Sullivan’s Concrete Coatings. The same people who installed every one of the 2,500+ floors Sullivan’s has put down.
Scheduling
Classes run regularly throughout the year. Specific dates are scheduled directly with our team after enrollment, so we can fit training around your existing business commitments.
Dealers can send as many team members to any class as they want, installer, salesperson, project manager, second crew lead. The training scales with your business.
